Under the Alaska Reads Act, every K–3 student is screened three times a year with mCLASS DIBELS 8th Edition. Each measure takes 1–3 minutes. Students below the benchmark get extra reading support — the goal is reading at grade level by the end of 3rd grade.
When: Fall, winter and spring — short one-to-one checks with a teacher
