Who is Eric Carle?

Eric Carle created bright collage illustrations from hand-painted tissue paper, and wrote more than 70 picture books about nature, counting, days of the week and colours. The Very Hungry Caterpillar (1969) has been translated into dozens of languages and sold tens of millions of copies. The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst, Massachusetts, celebrates picture-book art from around the world.
