Read the story. Then answer using details from the text.

The Bet

"You can’t go a whole week without your phone," Jordan said. "Ten dollars says you crack by Wednesday."

Kai handed it over on Sunday night. Monday felt like a missing tooth — his hand kept reaching for a pocket that held nothing. In class he noticed how often everyone else glanced at their screens.

By Wednesday, something changed. He finished a book for the first time in months. He noticed the old man who walked a three-legged dog past the bus stop every morning, and they started saying hello. At lunch, without a screen to stare at, he talked to a kid from his science class who turned out to love the same strange music.

On Sunday, Jordan held out the phone and the ten dollars. Kai took the money. He looked at the phone for a long moment. "Keep it until tomorrow," he said.
