What is the Provincial Reading and Mathematics Assessment (PRMA)?
Reading and mathematics (alternating years — 2025 was mathematics), two weeks in may/june. System-level; not a classroom mark.
What is the format?
A system-level assessment for Grades 3, 6 and 9. Focus alternates each year between reading and mathematics.
How should my child prepare?
Take one practice test to find strengths and gaps, review the skill breakdown, practise the weaker skills, then try another test a week later. Read every day and talk about what you read.
