What is the Grade 12 Provincial Tests?
ELA 40S, Applied Mathematics 40S, Essential Mathematics 40S, Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S, end of each semester (january and june). 20% of the final course mark (per Manitoba Education).
What is the format?
Math tests include selected-response and constructed-response questions with full solutions shown. ELA test includes reading, a written response and a composition.
How should my child prepare?
Take one practice test to find strengths and gaps, review the skill breakdown, practise the weaker skills, then try another test a week later. Read every day and talk about what you read.
